Hello Boxcar Friends,

We are so excited to produce this magical piece of theater as our first official Boxcar production! It is one of our absolute favorites and we can’t wait to revisit its beautiful messages and themes. 

Our three week musical theater summer program is designed to give performers a comprehensive training experience culminating in a full-scale musical production. Over the course of the program, students will receive training in a range of musical theater skills, including singing, acting and dancing.

In order to secure a spot in the program, please register by May 15th.

  1. When you are logged into the portal, please click on the “Enroll in Auto-Pay” icon and input your payment information.
  2. Please e-mail laura.boxcarstageco@gmail.com to let us know that you are requesting to enroll in the payment plan. From there, we will register you into the program from the back end and apply the following payment plan to your account:
Three payments totalling $600.00
  • June 1st - $200.00
  • July 1st - $200.00
  • August 1st - $200.00

The balance will appear on your portal, and your account will automatically be charged on the dates above. 
For the initial audition, please submit a self tape consisting of two of the provided musical cuts from our Into the Woods Audition Materials. 

**Female-identifying actors, in addition to your two chosen cuts, please prepare and submit the Rapunzel theme. :) 

Please have these selections fully prepared and memorized.
When filming, please:
  • Make sure that you are recording in nothing larger than 720pHD, otherwise the files will be too large. 
  • Ensure that you are in a well lit area, and the camera is placed at eye level. Try to catch yourself from the waist up. 
  • Play your music on a device that is different from the one you are filming yourself with. Ex. play music from your computer and film yourself on your phone. 
Please fill out our Into the Woods Audition Form  where there will also be a section to upload your audition videos. 

Please film and upload each song separately, or else the file will be too large to submit. The due date for video submissions is May 18th. 
We will only be accepting video submissions from students who have already registered, so please make sure to complete that process before submitting your audition!
We will hold call backs  in person during the evening hours of May 29th and 30th. 

We’ll send out more details about the scheduling after we’ve reviewed the initial audition submissions.
